Focus on One Profitable Business Model

Do you ever feel like you are going 500 miles per hour in a million different directions?  Do all the internet marketing products and promotions get you excited about one thing after another ?  Do you buy every exciting offer and spend time checking it all out.   If so, you are not alone.  I recently found out that this is a very common issue, especially when you are first starting out in the internet marketing business.

There is so much to learn, and all kinds of cool ideas and opportunities out there. There are tons of e-mails arriving in your inbox each day with great new things to check out and awesome discounted offers.   The problem arises when all your time is spent checking out all the different opportunities and ideas, and no time is left for and TAKING ACTION on the things you are learning.  To actually make any money, you have to take action and focus on one thing at a time.  It is important to choose wisely when deciding where to put your time and focus.  Check out this video by Liz Tomey (ultra successful internet marketer) on this topic.  She is not selling anything in this video.  It is about focusing and spending your time on profitable things.  Great stuff.

Clickbank – Joint Venture News

Today is an awesome day !  I got some great information in my e-mail box today from Jim Cockrum.

Here is the awesome  news.  Clickbank has added a great new feature that will make it a lot easier for Newbies to break into the eBook business.   Clickbank will now payout the profits three ways (or more)!  They now will payout what ever percentage is determined (by you) to each additional individual.  What does this all mean?  Here is just one example: You could partner up with an experienced (big dog) marketer, and maybe have them do a quick interview to include with your product.  Your product will now have a higher value with an expert interview as part of the package.  Then, split the profits between you, the affiliates, and the big dog marketer.  Great way to get JV’s interested, hey?

This can work wonders for you in any niche – say woodworking for example.  Write an eBook, then have an expert do an interview with you regarding the same topic.   Put the total product on Clickbank for affiliates to promote.  Split the money three ways between you, the expert and the affiliates.  This is a much better model for the experts, because they get their cut directly from Clickbank, not by trusting you (a stranger) to pay them.  That fact makes it a better model for you because the expert has a lot more incentive to work with you!

If you are confused at all, check out this video that Jim Cockrum made about it (yes, he is one of the big dogs!).

Who Am I and Why Am I Here?

Everyone has their own unique personality, passions, values and skills.  Many times it is hard or even stressful to try and get a good grasp of exactly what they are.  People are happiest when they are doing the type of work that they love and were “made to do” (makes sense).  I have also heard that the money flows more freely toward someone who is passionate about their work.

Sounds great doesn’t it?  Love what you do and make more money while doing it.  It seems that it would pay to get an accurate determination of the type of work that fits YOU the best.    Not what your parents, friends or family push for, but what YOU were “made for”.  The thing to do is to look inward and focus on YOU for a bit.  I have found that taking a quality personality profile test really helps to make a solid determination of what YOU are “made for”.    Once you get that inner knowledge, your ability to focus is much greater and your  decisions about everything else become so much easier.  You now know the right path to take.

The crew over at 48 Days offers a quality Personality Profile package (affiliate).  Maybe it is time to meet the real you!

‘Operation eBook’ is laid out very nicely and flows well from one topic to the next.  There are lots of topics to flow through, because the eBook is slam packed with awesome information.  Several worksheets are included that help get your ideas together and lay out your plan of attack.   Reading this eBook and doing the worksheets has really helped me get focused on what project to actually work on.   It is now helping me get all my thoughts lined up for the actual writing process.  In addition, it has given me additional thoughts I did not realize I needed to have!  I feel a lot more confident going into my next project with this excellent guide.

I almost forgot to tell you about the humor!  This book is creatively peppered with lots of funny references to a surgical operation ( hence “Operation eBook”).  I always like to get a good laugh while I am in the learning process.  There are also inspirational stories about people that have done well financially by writing eBooks.  Generosity abounds with this crowd !

I enjoyed this eBook and it has really helped me.  Hope it helps you too.

How Do You Like My Graphics ?

In case you hadn’t noticed, I have new graphics on the header and footer of my blog.  I think they look awesome, don’t you ?  I bet you are wondering who has the mad skills to make such cool graphics.  It is Steve, the graphics genius,  over at GFX-1 Graphics.   All I had to do was fill out a simple form with my basic ideas, and in less then 24 hours I had the graphics in my inbox !   It was such a simple process with great results.  I love that about GFX-1.  I also love their prices !

I am getting ready to market a new eBook soon, and plan to use the GFX -1 crew to do all the graphics for that project.  I want the graphics on my eBook to stand out and radiate quality.  The cover graphics can have a huge impact on whether a customer decides to give my product a try.  In addition, the web sales page graphics need to look professional and inviting.  I much rather pay a little upfront and get the great looking graphics, then try to handle it on my own.  I believe in giving my business to places that provide quality products and great service.  GFX-1 really  fits the bill, and will be my “go to” graphics source for my future projects.  I am an affiliate because I love the product.

Get the Right Help, Right Away

I recently bought a new camera, the Canon 60d.  It is a beautiful camera but is very complex in its beauty.  There is so much more to working this equipment then my previous point and shoot style camera.  I went out and tried to take some good pictures a couple of times, but quickly became frustrated trying to figure everything out on my own.  I appreciate a faster learning curve then the “stumble around” option.

After seeking advice from some good photographers, I knew I needed some type of class specific to my d60 camera.  I checked the internet, and quickly found a  “Canon 60D Crash Course”  DVD for sale.  This DVD is made specifically for beginners using my camera.  I was delighted and made my purchase right away.  I had no idea that someone would have created a DVD class for one specific camera.  This DVD fellow created a great opportunity for himself by solving a specific problem.  It appears from his website that he loves photography and has skill in that area.

Once again, proof that  USING WHAT YOU LOVE + ADDING SKILL + HELPING OTHERS = Profit !

Also a lesson in the importance of getting the right help early on in the process of starting something new.  Had I purchased the DVD at the same time that I got the camera, I could be a lot further along in my photography skill right now.  But hey, learn from your mistakes and move forward.  Great pictures are coming soon !

iPhone Slingshot

I want to share a video I came across today.  It is proof that you can match extreme creativity and profit in a very fun way.  Like Dan Miller said about this man’s hobby in his blog today, “Opportunities don’t have to be complicated to be fun and profitable”. It is a great thing to be successful doing something that you love to do.  It can even be something that started back in your childhood.

Remember how the young boys loved playing with slingshots and knocking over cans with rocks when you were a kid ?  They say that the things you loved as a kid will remain a love if you let it.  Well the guy in this video has kept his childhood delight and enthusiasm for slingshots into his adulthood.   He is now a “big boy” and has turned his creative slingshot inventions into “big boy toys” .  It looks like he also profits off something he loves to do, by putting his videos on You Tube.  This guy has created his own You Tube Channel showing off some absolutely crazy slingshots.  The videos he makes have advertising  and some have over a million hits. My guess is he is making good money doing something he has loved his whole life.  How could you ask for anything more ?

Think outside the box,  be creative and make money doing what you love today.  Just be nice to your iPhone in the process !

Time for the Upgrade

Sometimes you need to invest in the best.   It is better to decide what the “best” is for your situation before the investment is made.   This may take some work.

The “best” scenario for me is to work from home and prosper doing work I love.  Internet marketing appealed to me and seems to match some of my skill set.  I found out very quickly that there is a lot to learn !    It was time to do some research to find out who might be the right person to help me.  I enjoy learning from those that have actually done the type of work that is being taught.  It is that real world experience (both success and mistakes) that captures my attention.  When I came across John Thornhill’s programs, he appeared to have that real world experience.

The first class I joined with John Thornhill was his internet marketing coaching program.  It is a great entry level class, which is exactly what I need.  Once I got a few weeks into his program I became convinced that John is very knowledgeable, honest and runs a professional service.  It was time for me to upgrade my use of John’s program offerings.  I am happy to report that I have joined the Masterclass, a more intensive and higher level mentoring program.

I went for the upgrade !

Goal Setting

There are seven areas in life that need focus, according to Dave Ramsey.  It is important to set goals in each of these areas to keep your life well-balanced.  Your goals shoud be put into writing so that you can keep track of your progress.  Every few weeks, go back and take a look at the goals that have been set.  It will help keep you focused.    The seven areas are:  Financial, Intellectual, Family, Spiritual, Physical, Career and Social.

Here are some ideas to get your mind in a creative mode. Think up some new goals for yourself:  (1.) Financial: pay off credit cards, increase income, or increase retirement savings.  (2.) Intellectual: read a new non-fiction book evey month, attend a class in your area of interest every six months, or attend a weekend seminar.  (3.) Family: start a Friday Family Night, date night with your spouse, or a family reunion each year.  (4.) Spiritual: read the Bible this year, volunteer at church, or find a great chuch to attend.  (5.) Physical: Eat more good foods, do something that relieves stress, or get a check-up. (6.) Career: Move into a career that you will love, focus on where you may want to go in your current career, or start a new business (7.) Social: Say something uplifting to most everyone you meet, surround yourself with positive people, or make time to have fun with your friends each week.

Challenge for the day:  Set a goal for each of these seven areas of your life, and put the goals in writing.  Then work toward your goals.  It can be a challenge, but you will be surprised at how well it will help you maintain balance in your life.

Ask ! Seek ! Knock !
